Armenia has not implemented a complete asbestos ban. A 2016 government decree (Resolution 930-N) outlawed five of the six asbestos mineral types, but chrysotile (white asbestos) โ the most common form โ remains legal. Soviet-era buildings and infrastructure contain widespread asbestos cement materials including roof panels, water pipes, and insulation. WHO reports list Armenia among European countries yet to fully ban asbestos.

2016: Resolution 930-N banned five amphibole asbestos types (amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, actinolite, anthophyllite) but explicitly exempted chrysotile
