Definition
A four-step process that certifies an asbestos work area safe for reoccupancy: (1) visual inspection, (2) thorough cleaning and waste removal, (3) second visual inspection, and (4) air monitoring to confirm fiber levels are below regulatory limits. All four stages must pass before the containment can be removed and the area reopened.
